I've already cocked up.
I left the gold paint at home and I don't think there's a place that sells modelling paint around my uni. As far as I can tell, the only thing thats gold is the ammo. However, I did notice this in Chieftains ITCH (er, did not notice that acronym till I typed it down) video on the T-55a:
Spoiler:
Image Luckily I have some aluminium paint so I'll do the ammo with black caps and aluminium bodies. A bit more dull that the traditional gold shells but at least this works too

Aaaaaaaand work has now begun on it. The kit starts with building, however I'm skipping the hull for now and I'm beginning from the turret. I've already taken my first major blunder. I haven't used white paint for a while and have forgotten how tedious it is :tongue Since its flat white, it'll mix with anything remotely dark, and that apparently includes dried paint since my first coat came out looking awful as it had mixed with the black base coat. Second issue I found with it, the coats are relatively thick and thinning with water doesn't provide good results so I've put far too much paint on it trying to cover up the past mistakes :kid

I see this forum has a word limit since I wasn't able to post the full message (altho for some reason the error it gave me was that there were too few characters :? )

/carries on from last post/
This was all on the turret floor, luckily there's not that much detail being bollock'd and thankfully I made this mistake here and not on the gun breech for instance :?

Hm, for some reason the issue was with having 3 spoilers of images? A bit weird....At least it gives me an excuse here to pad my post count :trl

The turret bottom I have now still needs a lot of clean-up, especially the seat rims which I'll likely do once I've finished adding the rest of the stuff to it.

That looks like a very detailed model kit. Curious how it looks finished.

Will be interesting to see how much gun depression it will have once its all cobbled together, it takes up a load of space in the turret :tongue

The beach is so heavy that I need to keep it supported so that it doesn't drag with it the things keeping it up :tongue

Just remembered I had this.

Hmm not adding my file - probably too big.

Anyhoo Fluff, I have a couple of PDFs on model painting - good ones - I'll find anther method to get them to you.

If there ever was a WT auf E100 model kit, I would buy that.
