I think not. I had them as favourites before the tournament started but I saw the writing on the wall when they lost to Mexico. Well done South Korea!! :chrg

Germany is the England of 2018. Faith in a tired old guard, short of energy, motivation and ideas.

I would have liked to have seen the youthful Germany that won the confederations cup of last year. But you can't drop Müller, Özil, Khedira, Boateng, Reus, Kroos, Hummels, Neuer because of past results. It was the same with England with Rooney, Hart, Gerard, Lampard, Milner.

I would have put out this team after the first game

Stegen (another great season for Barca and not carrying an injury unlike Neuer)
Kimmich Süle Hummels Hector
Gündogan Kroos (The only one of the old guard that has played anywhere near as expected)
Draxler Goretzka Brandt
Werner

At least they have replacements lined up. Wonder when the orange squad will qualify again since they started to crap themselves over Luxemburg.

Netherlands just need to find a decent attack again. The defence is quite solid, maybe I would try a back 3 formation like England play atm.

Cillissen
De Vrij Van Dijk De Ligt
Tete Willems
Strootman Wjnaldum
Promes Depay
Bas Dost

I think that should be a fairly decent squad, enough to qualify for the euro's you would think.

My country's team even managed to score a defeat against Austria in the last "test" match before going to Russia. This hasn't happened over the last, err, 60 years? First i thought of something like "mission rigging" but no, they are really that bad.
